Sustainability is a big word right. And for many businesses it is moving from buzz word to something they want to see enshrined in their daily working practices. For us at Northern Powergrid it’s something we see as completely holistic.
It’s not one department but an ethically driven combination of economic, environmental and societal factors that make up our relationships with our communities, colleagues and region. We want to adopt a more holistic approach with sustainability to be at the heart of everything we do.
The government’s recent 10 Point Plan for a job-creating green recovery shows a national synergy with this all-encompassing approach: with suitability issues from investment to see more people walking right the way to major carbon capture and storage programmes.
But what is your business planning around sustainability? And what do you think of our approach?
Join us on Tuesday 15 December at 10am at our virtual workshop:
- Hear from sustainability experts.
- Take part in a sustainability practice share so we can all learn from each other.
- Discuss how collaboration is a critical part of our sustainability approach.
- Help us consider where and how Northern Powergrid should focus its sustainability efforts. Together, let’s help create ambitious targets for this important area.
As we plan for a green future, the sustainability of our energy network is critical in supporting the current services we provide to you, our customers, and how we enable the Green Recovery and decarbonisation ambitions of our regions.
Sustainability is not new to our business – we have always been committed to setting and achieving stretching targets in our communities or in the way that we treat the environment. However, we recognise the need for this to be ambitious and properly embedded across our business in order to meet ambitious targets. Your feedback will help to shape our approach, level of ambition and priorities, as we plan for the future
I hope you can join us for this session and if you have any questions or comments, please do get in touch.
