Overview
Further to this week’s earlier bulletin and against the backdrop of notice of a global gas supply shortage, the National Grid ESO* (Electricity System Operator) has indicated that Emergency Power Cuts will only happen when all other options have been considered or used to deal with a major energy supply shortage and must take place to reduce demand on the country’s power system and fairly share the electricity that is available. To find out more and how to prepare please join us at our virtual briefing.
You can find our latest updates and information on how to understand emergency power cuts by visiting our dedicated website page where you can also find a Documents Download link for the latest Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) under Helpful Information, which we would be very grateful if you could share further with stakeholders via your websites and social media.
The National Grid ESO is the company responsible for balancing the electricity generated with what customers are expected to use.
