Net Zero Heat and Transport Workshops

Overview

Government direction on the decarbonisation of heat and transport has been shaping up lately – with heat pumps front and centre in the Ten Point Plan and the ban on ICE vehicles moving forward.

Robust energy networks will be key to realising Net Zero ambitions, accelerating the uptake of technologies like electric vehicles and heat pumps and delivering regional and national decarbonisation. As the Distribution Network Operator for the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire, Northern Powergrid will be shaping the direction of this transition, and developing the foundations on which we build the region's low carbon future.

At our Net Zero Heat and Transport Workshops we'll be taking a deep dive into decarbonisation, with the two sessions shining a light on how network operators can support regional low carbon ambitions. This collaborative event offers a platform for all those across the low carbon heat and transport sectors to share their thoughts about what a low carbon future looks like and what needs to happen to make the big ideas come to life.

Discussion at the sessions will focus on:

  • Creating the conditions for rapid electric vehicle and low carbon heating roll-out
  • Exploring the opportunities and challenges
  • Collaborating to achieve a whole systems approach
  • Working together to accelerate your low carbon ambitions

The decarbonisation of heat workshop will run from 10.30am–12.30pm

The transport and EV focused workshop will run from 1pm–3pm
